It's soft and "fuzzy" on one side, and clean cotton on the other.It's the best of both worlds and my daughter loves it, calling it her "blankie."I was a little disappointed in the color, since it's called "pomegranate" I expected it to be red, but it so very purple that it clashes with anything red.But it's main purpose is not decorating, so I'm happy with it overall.
FYI..."velboa" is made from polyester.I had trouble finding that piece of information before I bought this product.
